The Greatest Show
"Well it's all an adventure that comes with a breathtaking view..." ♥️🎩
Who else is obsessed with The Greatest Showman? I have no idea what new music even is because it is all I hear all day and everyday. If you have not seen this movie yet, you must! And if you have, well, you understand. It pulls on my heart strings every time I hear or see anything that has to do with it. I don't think I have ever been so connected to a movie in my life as I am to The Greatest Showman.
It really captivated me and put my way of thinking at a whole other level. I have always been a very out going person. When I was younger I was always a leader. At girl scouts, I even won an award for most spirited. This is who I AM. But boy has life taken a toll on me. Little did I know that everything I went through would make me become the person I am today. Even though I have read dozens of motivational quotes, nothing ever changed my life like The Greatest Showman. It sparked the flame in me that I had turned off for some time while dealing with things that were happening in my life.
I felt a connection to Hugh Jackman's character P.T. Barnum. All I did was cry throughout the entire movie and I didn't understand why. I had a breakthrough after this, even though I thought I was losing it. LOL I spent almost a week barely closing my eyes to sleep. I couldn't. "A million dreams were keeping me awake" and I was literally "dreaming with my eyes wide open." I came up with so many ideas that we are now bringing to life in our photography business and also other projects we are working on. I am so happy. The happiest I've been in a very long time. I feel like all my dreams are coming true. I've rewritten the stars.
This session was very special to me. It was our first ever themed session from start to finish. We are used to capturing families throughout the day so this was totally different for us. We are so grateful to The Herrera Family for allowing us to make this dream happen. Layla was the perfect little ringleader. We met Layla and her family earlier this year during a family session at Magic Kingdom.
When I reached out to her mom about my idea for this session, she was on board immediately. In fact, as we were hanging up she was entering Target and texts me 5 minutes later to show me the perfect Junk Food outfit she found on the clearance rack. It was all meant to be! I couldn't believe how everything was falling into place.
Mario 3D printed a little top hat to put on a parade stick from Party City that we cut to her size. I would stare at that stick daily and when the day finally arrived, I couldn't believe it! The parade stick has now become part of my home decor. (yep, I might be a little crazy! LOL)
This session took place at Storybook Circus in the Magic Kingdom. We knew the big circus tent there was perfect, This area was always used as seating. There were many chairs for guests to have some shade and it was also a FP+ kiosk. I had planned the entire session around the ottomans, chests and mirrors. When we arrived everything was gone. I was in a state of panic and I couldn't understand why everything was gone. I asked several cast members and no one had a clue. (I have now come to find out that it was for Mickey's Not So Scary Halloween Party, it is used as a Disney Junior Dance Party) I got over it and when we set up for the first photo it hit me. This was a blessing in disguise. The tent looked more like a real circus tent empty the way it was. I got even more excited!
Layla is a great listener and despite the heat, she did fantastic. She blew us away with how well she'd pose and how adorable she looked at the sound of every shutter click.
It was the perfect day with such amazing people. My heart was so happy and full.
It's been quite the adventure these past 2 years for us. We cannot believe how far we have come in such little time. It's all thanks to our wonderful clients who have helped us live our dream. It really does come with a breathtaking view, and we are so excited to see what the future holds for Sees the Day Photography!
